Medical image segmentation with SAM

Great news! Our paper dedicated to analyzing the medical image segmentation capabilities of SAM, Meta’s foundation model, has just been published. In our tests, this model achieves results close to those obtained by models specifically built for this task, and SAM hasn’t been trained to perform segmentation of this specific type of images.

This is our first publication in the field of Medical Image Analysis (MIA). This opens a new research line within the lab, with which we hope to begin fruitful collaboration with various entities in the healthcare field.
