José María Granado Criado is an Associate Professor and current Head of the Department of Computer and Communication Technologies (TCC) at the University of Extremadura.
An active member of the ARCO research group, his work focuses on Reconfigurable Computing (FPGAs) and hardware acceleration of complex algorithms. His current research lines apply these technologies to Bioinformatics (RNA sequence design), hyperspectral image processing, and cryptography.
He has extensive teaching experience in Computer Architecture and has participated in numerous national and European research projects aimed at optimizing embedded and high-performance systems.
