José Manuel Chaves González is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Systems and Telematics Engineering at the University of Extremadura and a member of the ARCO (Computer Architecture and Logic Design) research group.
His research focuses on Artificial Intelligence, specifically Evolutionary and Bio-inspired Computing applied to complex Bioinformatics problems (DNA sequence design, motif discovery) and Multi-objective Optimization. He has published numerous articles in high-impact (JCR) journals such as Knowledge-Based Systems, Expert Systems with Applications, and Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence.
