Jaime Galán Jiménez is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Systems and Telematics Engineering at the University of Extremadura.

His research activity focuses on applying Artificial Intelligence and Bio-inspired Optimization techniques (genetic algorithms, ant colony optimization, etc.) to solve complex problems in telecommunications networks. His areas of greatest impact include Software-Defined Networking (SDN), efficient resource management in data centers, and energy efficiency in network infrastructures (Green Networking).

He has carried out international research stays, notably his collaboration with the University of Bern (Switzerland), and has an extensive scientific publication record in first-quartile (Q1) journals in the Telecommunications and Computing field.
