Dr. Álvaro Rubio-Largo received his B.Sc. in Engineering and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Extremadura, Extremadura, Spain, in 2009 and 2013, respectively. He is currently Academic Secretary of the Instituto Universitario de Tecnologías Informáticas Aplicadas (INTIA) and an Associate Professor at UEx, where he carries out his research activity in the Grupo de Arquitectura de Computadores y Diseño Lógico (ARCO) research group (Computer Architecture and Logic Design Group). Among his main successful publications (over 60), he has over 25 articles in impact journals. His current research interests include evolutionary computing, multi-objective optimization, parallel computing, and their application to solve complex real-world problems in the fields of telecommunications and bioinformatics. Additionally, he frequently serves as a reviewer for leading impact journals.
