Adolfo Lozano-Tello is a tenured associate professor in the Department of Computer Systems and Telematics Engineering at the University of Extremadura (UEx), Spain. He received his degree in Computer Science from the University of Granada, Spain (1993). He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the UEx (2002).

His research interests include the classification of reusable software components, ontology design, linked data portals, the use of software components and ontologies in applications, the application of ontologies in ambient intelligence, and the use of deep learning for satellite-based crop identification. He has published over 100 papers on the aforementioned topics in software engineering and knowledge engineering.

He is involved in several funded research projects from various institutions and companies. He currently directs the Open Data and Transparency Office at the University of Extremadura.
